Why feminists are crazy

If men support a particular type of feminism that should be a clue as to its ineffectiveness. Feminism should be a threat to men because we are seeking liberation from patriarchy, which means that they lose the privilege they were afforded at birth by simply owning a penis.

Naked statues of women will neither help feminism nor topple it. What we need is for women to rise up and be brave and most importantly, refuse to accept our lot. Liberal feminists need to get radical. Giving women commanding roles in the armed forces does not erase the harm done by militarised masculinity. Julie Bindel.

Austria orders nationwide lockdown for unvaccinated. Son of former Libyan leader Gaddafi to run for president. These women fought for sexual and reproductive freedom, against strict beauty norms and for their right to work outside the home.

Feminists at this time were heavily stereotyped as being humourless, hairy-legged, man-hating and unhappy women. As a backlash to the backlash, a third wave of feminism sprouted in the s — largely influenced by punk and underground trends. Third-wave feminists fought for social justice and focused on increasing the intersectionality and inclusivity missing from earlier forms of feminism.

However, once again, they were demonised with the same arguments: man-hating, ugly, crazy, going too far. I make these brief historical references to point out that no feminism has ever been fully celebrated. And in the current fourth-wave of feminism, which uses digital tools to strengthen the fight, anti-feminist voices are as loud as ever.

Doing so allows them to acknowledge that widely-celebrated changes from the past were good, while simultaneously attempt to halt current and future progress. Most people today will agree that to vote is a basic right and that women deserve economic independency and sexual agency. But not everyone understands yet that trans women are women, that sexism is an everyday problem and that the pay gap exists.

In 30 years time, we will look back and think of the MeToo movement as a crucial point on the feminism timeline. Lets not forget which there are so many women nowadays that have real very serious mental issues, and that is very scary altogether. There is no reason to scream girl power. It just makes women look ridiculous. Women should ofcourse try to get fair treatment and respect, but its all about choice and practical solutions. August 5, Georgina Diaz.

This said, I think it must be easier to stop being a Protestant than to stop being a Catholic. Oh, Anna, how sexy I found your story when first I read it as a horny west of Ireland teenager with no access to erotic material. How desperately romantic was your burning love for Vronsky, consummated breathily in a vestibule. You spurned the dull affections of your ugly eared husband; you listened to your heart, but — Anna!

Years later, I returned to your story as a feminist. Big mistake. And, second, your problem with your husband is his ears?

Not the fact that he married you when you were little more than a child and seems to think of you as an attractive, pleasant, son-bearing thing? Stupid feminism. I loved that book. Bras — pretty, patterned, lacy things. Making your boobs look inhumanly spherical and providing entertainment when lovers try to remove them.

I am modestly titty. There is no load to bear. I realised that I wore a bra only to hide my nipples. Why should I apologise for my female physicality by wearing a surgical support every day of my adult life? So I stopped attaching the elaborate nipple-disguiser to my chest.

However, despite a clear lack of milkshake, my nipples continuously bring all the boys to the yard. And, unlike Kelis , I do not regard a yard full of pervy boys as a cause for celebration. Or tables, or poles, while free shots materialise from the ether. On the other hand, dancing on bars is fun. Not since feminism happened.

Every other station is pumping out programming based on maddening gender stereotypes, putting it out into the collective mind of a populace that accepts the prejudice as if it is normal, as if it is perhaps the offshoot of innate genetic differences between men and women.

Remember to breathe. I stopped watching television in when I realised that I had written five letters of complaint to television stations and advertisers in the space of a month.

I now live in a little bubble of carefully curated content. In my bubble, films directed by women are as common as films directed by men.
