Hugh is actually very versatile, a gifted and brilliant musician as well as a great actor. Seeing Hugh and his band, Copper bottom, live is an immensely enjoyable experience. Laurie makes an effort to banter and interact with the audience, which makes you really feel like you are involved with the show and almost like you are having a personal interaction with him. He may not possess the best vocals, but he overcomes this by singing with feeling and passion.
The TV actor clearly relishes his performing musician status, and his pleasure is infectious. The songs performed are old but they are varied and he puts a new spin on them and it sounds brilliant. There is soul, jazz and even a little Latin music in the show. Hugh is a self-proclaimed 'blues nut' and you can feel that influence in a lot of the songs.
The musicians are talented and the girls singing backup vocals are amazing. The show was just a great atmosphere to be in, everyone around us were enjoying themselves so much, talking about how it was the best concert they had ever been to. Read more. Both Hugh Laurie himself and each member of the band gave themselves completely from beginning to end. The audience just could not stay sitting on a chair. I even think that everyone felt personally addressed by each band member, and especially by the wonderful music.

A warm and cozy decorated podium immediately brought a warm and festive atmosphere in the room, an atmosphere that became more and more inense during the concert.
